| I thought it would be nice to share some myths and legends from different cultures Well, in English culture, probably the most popular/well known legends are those of Robin Hood and King Arthur. Robin Hood stole from the rich and gave to the poor. And as for Arthur - well, he inspired the concept of VoD's first songs! | |

| Oooooooooooooohhh!!! Well, I don't think Portugal has any cool myths But I volunteer to tell people about other myths I will leave out the obvious Yetis, Loch Ness monsters, Sasquatches, etc. Cause they're boring. First of all there is the Chupacabra. - Spoiler:
The Chupacabra is of unknown origin, however, the myth comes from Southern America, where a creature was said to suck the blood out of small cattle, such as goats. Thus the name, which in the native language, means "goat-sucker". There has been a lot of scepticism and also a lot of dogmatic belief. Some argue that the chupacabra is an alien; others, that it is fake. Interesting links:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SmHmnfgON4A https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Vvo2qRaVHU
Then there's the Mothman. - Spoiler:
Better known and more feared than the said Chupacabra, The Mothman is shrouded in a cloak of mystery, fear, and prophecies. It was said to firstly appear in Point Plesant, New Jersey, USA. People believe that The Mothman holds some kind of magical guessing powers; his presence is said to occur just before a disaster. This urban myth spawned a movie entitled "The Mothman Prophecies". Finally, another interesting, yet highly unknown and disregarded, is the Montauk Monster/creature.- Spoiler:
Is it a turtle without a shell? Or is it the Montauk monster? You decide. Interesting links:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NwhdaW4wPeQ
The truth lies nowhere, but in your own mind and opinion. | |
